Dr. Michael Sharon M.D. FACOG
Dr. Michael Sharon was born in Pasadena, California while his father was completing his PhD at the California Institute of Technology. After graduation, his father moved the family back home to Atlanta, Georgia. Michael grew up in Atlanta then went on to Yale University where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology in 1990.
Michael then graduated from Emory University Medical School where he also completed his residency. Immediately upon completion of his residency in 1998, Michael moved to Moultrie, GA to begin practicing medicine. Azalea Women’s Center was established in early 2001 at which time Michael opened the first GYN satellite office in Valdosta.
Due to continued growth, Michael and his family moved to Valdosta in 2006 to practice exclusively in Valdosta. Dr. Michael Sharon has been married to wife Amy since September of 1996. Amy is employed by AWC as a bookkeeper and handles accounts payable. Michael and Amy have two boys, Carter born in 1999, and Harris born in 2002. Carter graduated from Valdosta High School and is currently attending The Georgia Institute of Technology. Harris graduated from Lowndes High School and is currently attending The University of Georgia.
The family are members of First United Methodist Church in downtown Valdosta.
Sharon Eanes Kennedy CNM, ARNP
Sharon Eanes Kennedy was born in Augusta, Georgia while her father was finishing his ophthalmology residency. Residing in Valdosta, Georgia from the age of two, this city known for its beautiful azaleas and high school football has always been her home. After earning her Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Mercer University, Sharon went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Valdosta State University and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Florida. Since completing her education, Sharon has been practicing midwifery and living out her lifelong dream of delivering babies in her hometown of Valdosta at Azalea Women’s Center since 2012.
Sharon has been happily married to her husband, Patrick, since 2015. They met at Morningside Baptist Church, where they are still active members, while Patrick was serving in the United States Air Force.
After serving his country for over a decade, Patrick now owns and operates a small, local business. They have two young children, Hadlee Anne and Wyatt, that keep them on their toes!
As a family, they enjoy spending time together cheering on the Florida Gator football team and visiting Walt Disney World.
